TopPosting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I probably miss some interesting things because, whenever I see top
posting, unless it is a personal message, I tend to delete without
further thought.
And I probably miss interesting things because I delete messages like
the one to which I'm responding. It has 3 messages quoted in their
entirety before the post. I already read all 3 of these messages at
least once, and I read the first one 4 times already. What's the point?
Note that I only quoted the relevant part of the previous message for
contextual purposes. I feel no need to copy and paste in the entire
thread in every post I make. I have a threaded mail reader that allows
me to see any message in the thread if I feel the need to reread the
same message 15 times. Or am I supposed to start at the end of a thread
because it has the entire thread leading up to it? But then what if
something is added later. Then I have to reread the entire thread again
whether I want to or not. And if I write something to the list, why
should I have to reread and reread what I wrote? So as I said in my
previous post, inline posting or trimming should definitely be the
encouraged action. And quoting isn't always necessary. I do end up
deleting a lot of messages that have too many quotes quoted and
requoted.
I normally don't respond to these types of threads, but it comes up
frequently enough to flood my inbox and generally cause frustration and
annoyance, not because of the top posters, but rather because of the
complainers.
Well, I guess it's my $0.04 this time,
Lorenzo
