minimum RAM for Ubuntu

Hilary,
I've had no problems installing the Ubuntu desktop version 7.10 on my
granddaughter's 128 MB Sony VIAO notebook with a 6 GB hard drive. The
install does hang from the Live CD but works well from the Alternate.
