Firefox on Ubuntu displays different from Firefox on WinXP

About:plugins says     File name: libflashplayer.so,    Shockwave Flash 
9.0 r31
Firefox help->about says version 2.0.0.6

On the Adobe site, the flash display looks right, but the menus drop 
down behind it.
