aproblem with ubuntu fiesty 7.04

hi every body,
i have installed ubuntu sucessfully very soon , but i have a problem , when i go to 
system->preferences ->desktop effects
to operate the cubic view
i was prompted with an error message "the composite extention is not availble "
what does this it mean ? and  what can i do?
