There are two sections on that page, "Install NFS Server in Ubuntu", and
 "Install NFS client support in Ubuntu".  Install the server packages on
your desktop, and the client packages on your laptop.  However, if you
think you may want to go the other way too (access laptop files from the
desktop), install both groups on both (don't worry; the package managers
won't install anything twice).
