Where are the crash information stored?

Could it be that you don't have any space left on your hard disk? If so, 
reboot and select recovery mode from the grub menu (maybe you have to 
press ESC to get the menu). Then you can remove some files to make some 
space.

If there is some other fault, the files in /var/log might have a hint 
about the problem.
