Problem with webcam usb HP in Kubuntu 7.04

A good start might be to try 'lsusb' & see exactly what your webcam is,
as I suspect HP make more than one?
For example I have one of these:
Bus 002 Device 070: ID 047d:5002 Kensington VideoCam CABO II

Google will usually suggest a driver if you search on either the name or
number given by lsusb, ie 047d:5002 for mine.

lsmod | less will tell you if you already have the driver installed &
loaded.

You may need to be root for these commands.
