Ed, thanks for the comeback. Exactly? What I wish is
to receive root mail via mutt as I once did under
Debian all versions and maybe under Dapper(not sure).
By root mail I mean all the system messages sent to
root such as notices of improper user actions(things
that only root can do but users attempt to do),
security violations, outside attacks, port probing,
things of this nature or whatever the system would
report to the adnim. There may be other programs
needed to do all this; I just don't remember. When I
received 'root mail' it only showed up in mutt and on
a single-user machine with no lan. No other smtp mail
showed in mutt, only root mail. Sorry I can't be more
specific as when I had root mail I never had to set up
anything except answer the mail questions during the
Debian distro install process(postfix or whatever).
I'll keep you above instructions and try it asap.
