Set up dhcpd on your mandrake server/firewall/gateway. Serve IP
addresses to your desktop machine which should use dhcp3-client by
selecting Applications/System/Network -> wired connection (assuming) ->
properties and selecting 'automatic configuration (dhcp)'.
I'd give you help with the dhcp server but its been years since I set up
a firewall/gateway. Anyone remember oxygen/LEAF?
