LOL - and I'm not trying to say uswsusp shouldn't work, just that I think
most modern computers should be configurable with the default hibernation.
It may not be worth the trouble :-) And if he wants to try your solution,
getting a swap partition uswsusp can use shouldn't be that difficult.
