pidgin-guifications don't work on gutsy

Hi,

I just upgraded to gutsy from feisty. I can't get the Pidgin guifications plugin working.

I've tried:
- configuring the plugin
- disabling it, restarting pidgin, re-enabling it, restarting pidgin
- googling
- searching this message list

and I can't seem to figure out what the issue is.

I've installed pidgin-libnotify, and it works for "normal" messages, but not in irc, which is where 
I need the notifications the most.

Any help is much appreciated,
