gnome-screensaver: Not blanking at all

I would like to have GNOME blank my screens and then put them to sleep.  What
I usually have done until Gutsy is set screensaver timeout to 5 minutes (with
"blank screen" saver) and GPM display sleep timeout to 6 minutes.  Now it
seems gnome-screensaver doesn't signal GPM that the system is idle at all, so
my displays remain on all the time. :(
