Toggling start-up services

Have setup a LAMP Gutsy server. I don't want MySQLd to get auto-
started on bootup, just when I like using '/etc/init.d/mysql start'.
How can I go about disabling it from automatically loading during
bootup, and should I want to - how would I re-enable it again? It
doesn't help much here but I hope it is as easy as on FreeBSD where
you simple edit rc.conf and change mysql_enable="YES" to NO. What's
the deal with Ubuntu?

Many thanks

Gabriel
