Sound has gone after update to 7.10

I faced the same situation. Turned out to be just "muted" sound. Why I 
can't tell, as it certainly was not before the upgrade. The speaker icon 
in the speedbar (or whatever it is called) showed the little "no go" 
icon. Clicked the icon and changed the setting, all well again.
