Sounds to me like the kernel driver is looking for the firmware image for the device, being kept in a file/directory named 'acx/1.2.1.34/tiacx111'. Is there an optional package that you needed to install called *-firmware or something like that? I know that when they went to the newer kernels, the driver developers stopped including the firmware with the kernel (something about the license of the firmware vs. GPL), so they made them stand-alone packages. You might want to give that a shot.
