There is no supported upgrade path from 6.06 to 7.10. You can either
upgrade 6.06 -> 6.10 -> 7.04 -> 7.10 (which in fact is too much work and
you would be better off reinstalling), or you can wait for the next
release with Long Term Support (LTS), which will probably be release in
next April (8.04). There will be a direct upgrade patch from 6.06 (which
was an LTS, too) to 8.04.
