update-notifier and 7.10

Is update-notifier supposed to indicate the availablility of an upgrade
to 7.10, or does it just stick to updates to whatever is installed?

After a flurry of updates just before the release of 7.10, there has
been nothing. Is it waiting for an update to 7.04 before informing me?

I seem to recall that it told me about 7.04
