gusty upgrade problem

I had the same problem when trying to do an update while Gutsy (amd64)
was still in beta. I ended up downloading the alternate iso, did a
clean install, everything worked as advertised. Yesterday Update
manager reported I had 208 MB to update, that went fine, and now I am
running the final release.
