I installed the gnome decorator (searched "decorator" in synergy) once 
the mail list found that the decorator wasn't launching; thought a 
reinstall would set it as default.

Looks like it's enabling compiz now with the decorator on this system, 
but I'm installing the manager packages too to see about configuration 
management.
