  You might have to use the Alternate CD to install. For the record, I
  have a X1300 and running fine in Gutsy (but that's not a fresh install
  but was upgraded from Feisty months ago)

That's good news as I have an ATI Radeon 1300 running 7.04 with the ATI driver.
My hope is to have a nice 3D desktop with 7.10 soon.
