Desktop files are re-sorted (moved to left-hand side) after editing

Hi all,

I've noticed some strangeness with Fiesty ~/Desktop/ files.
Specifically if I edit a file on my Desktop with either vi or gedit,
after saving changes the file is moved to the left-hand side of the
Desktop.  Interestingly enough, this behavior does NOT occur if you edit
the file with pico.  Has anyone else seen this?   Any known work
arounds?
