procmail, mutt, evolution, fetchmail

I use fetchmail to get my email from my server and from gmail. I use
postfix for the placement of mail in dirs and then dovecot to serve it
up to Thunderbird. However, in your case, once your email arrives and is
placed in some location, you can access it directly with evolution.
