No video0 device? With gspca module.

I purchased a Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 today and installed the relevant
driver, gspca.  Everything loads up fine.  It looks like it will work, but
there is no /dev/video0 device created.  Do I create this by hand using
mknod?  If so, what are the correct parameters to use?  

This seems odd.  Am I missing something?
