Hi,
There is something that I saw while being in the set ups but didn't find out
how to change yet. If I use esc and goes into the bios set up My boots order
are: Dvdrom, then cd, then hard drive or something like that; but if I used
escape a few seconds later and I think go in the grub (not sure of that)
settings (that's where the list with mem86+ is) and watch the boot order I
have disk, then DVDrom then hard drive. I had been wondering if the
difference between the two would maybe stop the computer to know how to
start (but I'm not sure it would explain a no power). But that's just
guessing and since I did acpi =offnoapic my computer starts without problems
when it's unplug I decided to focus on the other troubles before to take my
computer apart to certainly change the motherboard. Since you told that
you're computer is brand new I may wonder if it comes from my motherboard. I
don't have enough experience to find out now, that's why I will just leave
it this way and try to learn more before to come back to this problem. Let
me know if you find an answer for your computer trouble and good luck
