Dual monitor possible?

It's perfectly possible - I'm running two 19" monitors off a single
(fairly old) nVidia card under Ubuntu on the PC I'm writing this email
on right now.

However, at the moment, it's non-trivial to do and it involves editing
config files and so on. As a beginner, I would have to recommend you
avoid this.

In theory, the next version of Ubuntu, 7.10, due out in just a few
weeks, should make this much easier. I suggest you wait until then.

For what it's worth, this is something Ubuntu is bad at. I've done
dual-head successfully under both SuSE and Xandros Linux in the past
with just a couple of mouse clicks.
