Broken system! need help

It sounds as though you could remove the dvd and reboot, then start the
burn process again (unless you're burning on a dvd-rw, in which case you
could erase the dvd and start again).
Or, are you saying that there was enough burned onto the disc that you
booted from it, fdisk+d the drive and the iso borked somewhere in the
middle...
