I didn't mention the latter, because it's not true.  I'm not at all sure
what determines if that message is attached, but I only see it on some
(fairly high) percentage of posts (it _may_ be true of all messages if you
read via the mail list, but people also get these posts through gmane and
web forums - of course unsubscribing from those is trivial...).
