For the original poster: you can copy the terminal output by selecting
it with the mouse, and paste it into the email by a middle click (or use
left+right click together, if your mouse does not have a middle button).

Alternatively, you can use "sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog >
$HOME/Desktop/syslog.output", which will put the output into a file on
your Desktop. When you are done, press Ctrl+C in the terminal to exit
the tail command.
