Steve,
No problem. I had a similar issue that was solved with 7.10. The
upgrade to 7.10 also fixed a problem I was unaware of, there was no
sound on one of the machines. There is now. I have NO idea what the
problem was.
All,
Over the weekend, I tried 7.10, because, well, just because. It seems
that a number of updates went a lot smoother and cleaner. I had no
problem with the Java install under Ubuntu 7.04, but the kids's response
was, "Are you serious?". Under 7.10, they did the upgrade on their own
with out a pause. Firefox automatically downloaded the pieces they
needed and installed. No symbolic links, nothing, just download and
install with a few mouse clicks. Someone did some nice work. However,
the graphics are still so ssssssllllllooooowww. But, it doesn't freeze
solid. Has no one else had this issue? Graphics outside of Yahoo games
and locally to the machine ( games & gump ), seem to be just fine.
