.XPM to .SVG

I can't get a good conversion though.  If *anyone* can get a good SVG
from one of these logos in linux, I'm eager to know how.  Here's a
helpful hint: .AI files are essentially PDF files.  Under mac/win I
would open in AI and export SVG, then open in Inkscape and save a
"good" SVG (AI  - up to version 11 - saves all of the PDF information
inside the SVG file also - kinda sad).

I thought I was sniffing on the right track, but skencil is segfaulting on me :(
