Not able to install ubuntu 7.10.

You don't have enough RAM to install from the normal Ubuntu with the
graphic installer.
I am making the assumption you want to stick with 7.10, which is a good
choice. You have to use a more lightweight installer...
On the download page, scroll down a bit and check the "Check here if you
need the alternate desktop CD. This CD does not include the Live CD,
instead it uses a text-based installer." check box. The text based
installer will run in very small memory configurations.
Note that with 192 MB of RAM, your machine will swap a lot, so will be a
bit slow.
I recommend adding a bit more RAM (same for Windows XP, actually, you
will find your PC much faster with 512 MB or more of RAM).
