virtualization which one to choose?

I saw the items on virtualization techniques. What is the best package to
get some experience with virtualization. VMware or VirtualBox ? I'm running
Gutsy on AMD 64 with 2 GB RAM and want to run XP and other $nix distro's on
virtual console. All advise welcome
