Hmmm yes, here too (Gutsy upgraded from Feisty upgraded from... etc).
I installed the hplip-gui package. I am not old enough to be 100% sure,
but it looks like the GUI uses the old, version one of Gtk/Gnome.
What's strange is that hplip-gui actually installed qt/KDE libraries
and corresponding python bindings, weird. So it depends and installed
Qt/KDE GUI stuff, yet when you run it it uses old Gtk widgets. I guess
this is worthy of a bug report, will do that tomorrow if I remember it,
no time now... bed time ;-)
