SLOW boot and LONG wait when logging out to switch users.

I'm not sure that anyone here is going to be able to help you. Perhaps 
you should try some of the suggestions instead of assuming?

I'm not saying that the disk timeout is absolutely the reason why you're 
having issues, but the symptoms are pretty much identical to what I 
experienced.
