Hey all

I have an installation problem that I do not understand. Consider the
following:

1. I have partitioned my hard disk and have more than adequate space as
a Linux partition.
2. I have downloaded both the Ubuntu 7.04 and Ubuntu 7.10 for AMD64 and
burned the iso images to CDs using Infrarecorder. The CDs show all the
appropriate files and folders so it was burned correctly
3. When I boot using the CD, the appropriate opening menu comes up
4. When I select the "install" option, I get the following error message:
/bin/sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
    (initramfc)
5. My computer configuration is as follows:
HP Desktop running Windows XP Media Center
Processor - AMD athlon 64x2 Dual Core 4600+
Monitor - HPf2105 wide flat panel
Display Adapter - NVIDIA GeForce 7500LE
Keyboard - HID Keyboard device (this is a wireless) but have tried
regular USB keyboard
DSL line - functions perfectly well with all other internet
requiring applications
6. A CD with Ubuntu 7.04 i386 funtions perfectly well on another
computer of mine, i.e., boots up and can be used from the CD

So - HELP - is this a bug and what can I do.

David
