I agree with Scott (possibly for the first time :-) ).  If your story is
true (I really don't care...) I'd be PO'd too, but whether true or not it's
precisely indicative of the kind of problem you get from doing support this
way.  I don't like it, and I won't use IRC for ubuntu problems. 
Ironically, I do part-time work on a help desk - over MSN chat!  There has
to be a better way.
