Application menu info needed...???

I guess I should clarify.  The problem is not with the menu that gets lots
of interesting non-KDE/non-Gnome apps, it's (a) with categorizing
everything that isn't KDE or Gnome as "Debian" and (b) with all those apps
not bothering to _create_ desktop menu entries (at least I assume that's
why it requires adding the Debian menu).  Since I don't have the debian
menu these days, I may be misremembering, but iirc it sets up its root
as "Debian", then under that it uses many of the same categories as the
KDE/Gnome menus.  imo, those items should be placed under the same
categories at the top level - or at the very least, I should be given the
choice of having them there.  I don't want to be having to traverse two
separate menu hierarchies to find a tool.
