ok, it's hard to believe, but it's for real ;-)
Now that you mention it, I remember my soundcard stopped working in
Edgy, while it worked in Dapper. It resumed to a working condition in
feisty.
I happily use Ubuntu where it works for me.
Maybe this is what you get when you prefer to work with "leading edge"
instead of using LTS labelled longtermsupport releases. ;-(
