Have a look at Sylpheed-Claws. Plugins include Bogofiler, ClamAV,
SpamAssassin (I usae that myself) and others.

I moved away from T-bird recently to Sylpheed. And from Evo long, long
ago due to it being so inflated (sure it's a nice app - but just too
much of a footprint).

Just Sylpheed is just another option along with Mulberry.
