Unless it's changed since Dapper, these aren't a problem; they don't
have a terminal associated with them- they're daemons that run 'in the
background' whether you're logged in, or not. Not to fear.
I don't have an answer for you on the 99% CPU; these are KDE parts,
and I run Gnome. I'm sure someone will have an answer for ya, soon though.

Yeah, I've heard that; one of the reasons I'm staying with Dapper
until the kinks get worked out. It's beautiful, but there's work to be
done, and decisions to be made, as a group.
