Downgraded to Edgy - wireless works again

So I got tired to fiddling with Feisty to get my Belkin wireless card
functioning again, so I backed up, wiped and went back to Edgy.
Belkin card now works "plug and play."

Can anyone explain *why* a software upgrade to Feisty wipes out my
wireless capabilities? I don't get it.
