I also have a 20.1" LG monitor (I have the L203WT... widescreen)... I
had the same problem when I first installed Feisty on it. The problem
was with the screen resolution. Even if Ubuntu detected the monitor
correctly, it was set to a resolution of 1280x1024. This monitor has a
native resolution of 1680x1050. Even on Windows, other resolution than
the native one gives ugly results (including fonts)... As I was only
testing Ubuntu on that machine, I didn't try to reconfigure xorg, but I
recommand that you try to do it...
