Panasonic NVGS 500 help please

Hi all,
am playing with a neighbours


  3CCD DV Camcorder


  Model No: NV-GS500]

Ubuntu (Dapper) sees the card in it used for stills, but am having problems
getting access to the video in it.
Could someone point me in the right direction (or recomend) for software 
needed, and any possible
usb drivers. If I can get it working with Dapper will think about 
acquiring one.
