HP Pavillion webcam

Hi all,

I could not get webcam working with ekiga. 
I have compiled and modprobed driver r5u870 which is known to work 
with HP Pavillion webcam on  Ubuntu (2.6.17.11).
but i donot see udev creating /dev/video0 files automatically
I have tried checking with xawtv too which  spewed:


This is xawtv-3.95, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.17-11-generic)
can't open /dev/video0: No such file or directory
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway

no video grabber device available
