upgraded from 6.06 to 6.10 on my Imac no usplash after reboot

It might be related to the screen resolution that the splash uses 
(high?) - not sure. I had problems with 6.10 in a laptop, and it was 
best for me to remove 'splash' from the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.1st

In fact I preferred to see something rather than a blank screen during 
boot up, so I also removed'quiet' so now I see text at least, which is ok.
