Right. Not third party, so this doesn't count in this argument. IE is
(according to MS a core part of Windows, so it's not legally separable.
Indeed, I wonder what the MS Office license agreement looks like and if
it has any legal requirement to run on Windows.

Indeed, the same page you are pointing to says this (emphasis mine):
        Note that you might have to have a valid license for Microsoft
        Windows to use *some* of the software, especially DCOM98 and
        Internet Explorer 6.

IIRC, Some apps that require IE6 for HTML can even use a firefox-based
implementation of the IE6 interfaces. Also, there are some third party
apps that don't require IE, too. 

So yeah, I'm still not seeing how running third party Windows apps on a
100%-wine foundation would have any legal problems.
