wireless mouse doesn't work

Hello,

My girlfiend just bought a (fairly cheap) wireless mouse. When we opened the
package, I was using Windows (XP), and it Just Worked®.

Unfortunately, when I logged into ubuntu, it didn't. This is everything that
appears in kern.log. The receptor seems to be recognized by the kernel, and
its led blinks on mouse activity. But the pointer ignores it.

Any ideas?
