 Guess it depends on what you want to spend and also if you have AGP or 
a PCI-E slot.

I have cards a new as a 7950 GX2 running in Ubuntu but most card will 
work in Ububtu, here is the Nvidia driver page..

and also the nVidia Linux forum a good place to look/ask to find out 
what will work best with your hardware and OS..
