Dealing with problems on ubuntu

It all depends on what your problem is. You can use the list and buy a book on Ubuntu Admin or basic usage or a Linux book in general.
Personally, reinstall is a last resort so if you want to learn, looking through scripts etc. is a good idea.
Reading other people's problems is also a good idea (good subject titles would aid this unlike some I see like ... Help!! or What can I do??)
But whatever, if you want to create / solve problems, it will take time and patience. Oh yeah, before you do anything major, backup!!

I'll learn a lot more about the system if I try and resolve the
problem I'd rather spend an evening or two rooting through the archives
of this list or asking it's users questions.
