firefox + java issues?

Folks;

don't know whether this is just a problem of mine, so I wanted to check
back here before possibly reporting a bug against Firefox: Am using an
up-to-date 7.04 installation and the JRE 1.6.x plugin (but the JRE
version obviously doesn't matter as the same thing happens with 1.5.x),
and things seem to work fine, any Java applets are rendered and usable
well.

However, being a Java developer I have to deal with applets that, well,
are unstable and/or crash once in a while. By now, this is a rather
painful process as, as soon as the applet crashes, Firefox itself is
rendered unusable, the only way out by then is kill -9'ing all running
FF processes and start anew. This is at least annoying, but yet I
haven't found a way to fix it. Am I the only one to see this?

TIA and bye,
Kris
